NFL Hall of Famer, Brett Favre, visited Johnson Janklow Abdallah Law Firm on November 13, 2019, to support the annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner and Children’s Charity Fundraiser. The former Minnesota Viking and Green Bay Packer was joined at the law firm by Governor Kristi Noem, Attorney Jason Ravnsborg and Chief Justice David Gilbertson. The charity event, in its 38th year, has raised millions of dollars for children’s charities. This year’s beneficiaries included Make-A-Wish, Children’s Miracle Network, Lifescape, South Dakota Special Olympics, Ronald McDonald House, Family Visitation Center and Cops For Kids. “We really enjoyed hosting Brett Favre for our charity event,” said Scott Abdallah, co-chair of the event. “And we were especially honored to have the Governor, Attorney General and Chief Justice join us for this fundraiser,” he added. The event raises money for children in the name of law enforcement. The reception for Brett Favre was followed by the main event at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall in Sioux Falls. This year’s event drew more attendees than ever before, topping 2,000 law enforcement officials and business leaders who showed their support for children’s charity in the name of law enforcement.
The event featured a special message from President Donald Trump regarding the death of event founder, Gene Abdallah, who passed away November 2, 2019. Flags in South Dakota were flown at half staff earlier in the week to honor the former U.S. Marshal, Superintendent of the Highway Patrol and State Legislator
